FOOD SCIENCE CLUB

The UA Food Sciences Club is an ASUA recognized nonprofit organization led by nutrition, microbiology, food safety and food systems students. Our mission is to promote greater understanding of food science and trends within the industry.  The club also connects with many professionals in food science to enlighten students about career and internship opportunities.  In addition, club projects introduce members to product and recipe development and small production projects for various products such as fermented foods and beverages, cheese and bakery goods. The club offers opportunities for students to gain experience, develop professional and leadership skills, network with professionals in the field, and make new friends.

NUTRITIONAL SCIENCES CLUB

The UA Nutritional Sciences Club is an ASUA recognized nonprofit organization run by nutrition students. Our mission is to promote healthy lifestyle choices and behavior change within the Tucson community. The club offers opportunities for nutrition students to gain community experience, develop professional and leadership skills, network with professionals in the field, and make new friends.

We partner with the UA Nutrition Network, Smart Moves, Body Smart, and other campus organizations to provide a wide variety of volunteer opportunities. The Nutritional Sciences Club also plans social outings and philanthropic events, such as the biannual UA Food Drive.

As a group, the club hopes to bring together students with a passion for nutrition and public health; to guide and prepare them for a career in dietetics; and to engage the community in healthy lifestyle choices.

SPORTS NUTRITION CLUB

The Sports Nutrition Club is a student-run organization made up of students who are interested in the science of nutrition as it relates to athletes and athletic performance. Our mission is to study, apply, and share evidence-based sports nutrition knowledge and practices on the university campus and in the Tucson community. We create opportunities for students to broaden their sports nutrition knowledge through group activities, guest speakers, and experiential learning. Our members will participate in campus and community sports, health, and fitness events, sports team talks, and other related activities. There will be one club meeting and one club activity each month that club members can attend.

Volunteer opportunities include: participating in University conferences; providing nutrition education on cooking, recovery snacks, hydration techniques, etc. to students and the Tucson community; representing the club at tabling events at sports games, on the mall, at the rec, etc.; working with club and UA sports teams/athletes; and more!

Social events include: attending club and UA sports games; playing games on the mall; group fitness classes; club dinners, and more!
